White Wines

Lumara -Grillo – Sicilian Dry White – 12.5% abv

Lazura Grillo

Our House White – Dry, white wine with fruity and upfront bouquet, with a nice citrus fresh finish. Our Sicilian house white is a great value, quality white wine.

Food Matching – Ripe and clean, this is the perfect match for salads, fish and shellfish (how about pasta allo scoglio?) and chicken.

Via Nova – Pinot Grigio – Italian Dry White – 12% abv

Lemony on the nose, with a delicious balance in the mouth, this Pinot Grigio is a very easy-to-drink dry white with medium alcohol and a gorgeous lingering finish.

Food Matching – Lovely on its own as an apéritif, this is also a delicious match for fish, summer salads and white meats.

The Frost Pocket – Sauvignon Blanc – New Zealand Dry White – 12.5% abv

Marlboro Frost Pocket Sauvignon Blanc

Deliciously crisp and fresh, packed full of vibrant and long lasting lime, gooseberry and tropical fruit flavours. A great favourite among our regulars!

Food Matching – Easy drinking on its own or with chicken salads and fish dishes such as grilled salmon.

Tooma River – Reserve Chardonnay – South Australian Dry White 12.5% abv

Tooma River Chardonnay

A fruit-driven wine with lots of citrus and melon flavours. Crisp on the palate it is well balanced and has plenty enough acidity to balance the sweet fruit flavours.

Food Matching – Delicious with roast chicken, pork fillet or richer fish dishes.

Picpoul de Pinet – Reserve Roquemoliere – French Dry White – 12.5% abv

Picpoul de Pinet

The wine is crisp, light and aromatic, with remarkable freshness on the palate. Domaine de Roquemolière’s grapes are harvested early in the morning and are vinified in a modern cellar, where Cyril Payon the winemaker uses temperature controlled fermentation and ageing on fine lees to ensure balanced, aromatic wines

The Stump Jump White Blend, d’Arenberg – Austrian Dry White – 12.4% abv

The Stump Jump

From beginning to end there is a transition, from the more fruity like characters of peach and citrus into more savoury, nutty, nuanced flavours on the finish. A wonderfully satisfying white wine with plenty of fruit character and a clean, crisp, dry finish.

Domaine de Vauroux – Chablis – French Very-Dry White – 12.5% abv

Domaine de Vauroux Chablis

Aromatic with clean mineral notes and hints of citrus. The palate is medium bodied with crisp, appley acidity, tight, pure fruit flavours of white peach and pears finished with a classic, steely, dry finish.

Food Matching – Any white meats or seafood, such as; lobster with tarragon butter, sauteed langoustine with Chardonnay reduction or pork medallions with mustard cream sauce.

West Coast Swing White Zinfandel

Full of vibrant ripe peach, mango and melon aromas. Juicy strawberry and tropical fruit flavours with fresh acidity balancing the sweetness.

Food Matching – Spicy, hot food and as a dessert wine. Very good with strawberries and strawberry tarts.

Il Sospiro Pinot Blush

An aromatic nose of freshly crushed cranberries and mineral elements. The palate is light, dry and crisp, with a delicious balance between zingy citrus and fruity red berry flavours. Very easy to drink, finishing clean and refreshing.

Food Matching – A great match for salads, fish and light pasta dishes. Try it with grilled or barbequed chicken with a cous cous salad or enjoy it with your favourite pizza topping.

Boheme Primitivo

Our House Red – Rich aromas of plum and black cherry with spicy notes of cracked black pepper. A charming, well balanced wine with a velvety texture and intense black forest and damson fruits.

Food Matching – Medium bodied, fresh and fruit-forward, this will pair very well with starters, charcuterie, pasta and pizzas.

Primera Luz – Merlot – Chilean Medium Red – 12% abv

Primera Luz Chilean Merlot

Red cherry and plum aromas. Filled with currant, ripe plum, cherry, vanilla and blackberry flavours, complemented by sweet ripe tannins.

Food Matching – Lamb chops with coarse-grain mustard and red-tomato chutney, grilled lamb kebabs with cumin and cinnamon, or a duck salad.

Melodias Winemakers Selection Pinot Noir, Trapiche – Argentinian Medium Red 14% abv

Melodias Pinot Noir

Aromas of wild strawberry, raspberries and cranberries. Medium bodied, with intense savory, spicy red fruit flavours, smooth tannins and a smoky character.

Food Matching – Excellent with pork or duck dishes or for a more hearty option with pheasant stew.

Cable Crossing – Shiraz – Australian Warm & Spicy Red – 13.5% abv

Cable Crossing Shiraz

A classic sun drenched Aussie Shiraz, this powerful version is full of ripe plum and blackberry aromas, has a fleshy palate and finishes long with black pepper notes coming through in harmony with the primary fruit characters.

Food Matching –  The black pepper notes make this Shiraz a great match to barbequed red meat, it’s a classic for a reason

Baluarte Roble, Chivite Family Estates – Spanish Medium Red – 13% abv

Baluarte Roble Tempranillo

Cherry red colour, clean and bright. Medium-high intensity. NOSE: Intense and fresh, very fruity. Red fruits, with fine wood hints. PALATE: Soft, velvety, good structure. Pleasant and long finish, very fruity.

Food Matching: All kinds of meat, river fish, stews and cheese.

Bodegas Santa Ana – Malbec – Argentinian Medium Red – 13.5% abv

Dense purple in colour with bright brick red highlights. Powerfully aromatic, showing concentrated stone fruit aromas such as plums and prunes with a hint of spicy oak. Finishes firm and grippy – perfect for drinking with red meat!

Food Matching – A great partner to red meat dishes, particularly when a rich sauce has been used. Try it with a slow braised lamb shank with parsnip puree for example.

Bogle – Phantom – North American Full Bodied Red – North American Full Bodied Red – 14.5% abv

Deeply luscious and succulent blackberries, aromas of anise and sweet fig are embraced by touches of black pepper. Subtle notes of cloves and vanilla emerge and compliment the concentrated fruit character of the wine.

Food Matching – Needs a full flavoured dish to stand up to big flavours in this wine.

A lively crisp sparkling wine with a delicate lemony character and an aromatic, dry, refreshing finish.

Food Matching: Delicious on its own, this lighthearted wine will also accompany canapés to perfection. In bars in Venice it is served by the glass, which is known as an ‘ombra’ or shadow. It accompanies ‘ciccheti’ which are basically tapas. Small portions of salt cod on polenta are a classic!
