About Woodforde's

Woodforde's is found in the heart of the Norfolk Broads. They were established in 1981 when they produced their first commercial ale, Wherry Bitter, at their first brewery in Drayton near Norwich.

The brewery was named after Parson Woodforde who was an eighteenth century clergyman and diarist. After two years brewing from a modern unit in Drayton, Woodforde's moved to a converted stable block behind The Spread Eagle in Erpingham which had once been the home of John Browne's Brewery back in the 1830s.

Woodforde's can boast a number of awards for their beers and now run The Fur & Feather Inn, Woodbastick and The swan Inn at Ingham.
