About Black Sheep Brewery

The Black Sheep Brewery first supplied beers to pubs around the Yorkshire Dales in October 1992. This heralded a new era for Paul Theakston whose family had brewed in the area for six generations.

The old family firm of T & K Theakston had ended up as part of Scottish & Newcastle in 1987 and although Paul Theakston had been offered a position in the big company he decided his heart lay in Masham to enjoy small brewery life.

Now Black Sheep brew four regular beers along with a number of seasonal ales and bottled beers.
